Will floor standing lamps sold in US work in 220 volt countries without transformers?

* I don't want to use the bulbs sold in US - will buy bulbs directly from those countries.

* The main question I have is if the switches rated for 110V will work fine. Will floor standing lamps sold in US work in 220 volt countries without transformers? No.

That is, they may seem to work okay but manufacturers don't make money by using components that can stand double the stress they are sold to meet. So, wiring insulation, contact spacing, switch location ... all may work, or seem to work, yet may be hazardous and/or have short lifetimes if used at 220.

.Will floor standing lamps sold in US work in 220 volt countries without transformers? Some bulb sockets and switches sold in the US are rated 250V. The ratings should be marked on them. Ratings are often embossed on the metal or plastic and may not easy to find or read. Take the bulb out and look inside the socket. You may need a bright light and magnifying glass. If it is marked less than 220V, it is not a good idea to use it on 220V.Will floor standing lamps sold in US work in 220 volt countries without transformers?Switches will work fine at the rated voltages.
