How to save on transformers ds?

I recently purchased transformers autobot on ds (I know it's quite old!) I completed the training mission (the very first level), I knew the game auto-saves so I turned off the game. Later I turned on the game put on the save slot select screen but it had not saved it just had to new game slots!



Please help and please if possible no links to other websites.How to save on transformers ds?Play through the training mission again. Then play a bit more into the next one, then turn it off. Check again. If nothing works, return for another copy. I also got the game recently(a week ago), and it works fine for me.
