Transformers (Generation 1 cartoon) was amazing. I think its because for most it is in a world of "today". This would explain why other generations of transformers (e.g. beast wars) never really caught on and why Transformers gen 1 still remains the only successful one.
I grew up in the 80s and Transformers was HUGE! It was battling a thing called "Cabbage Patch Dolls" for most wanted toy for Christmas. Transformers were sold out everywhere and Hasbro (the makers) didnt know how to keep up with demand.
Btw, Marvel Comics created Transformers for Hasbo. No one expected it would be so successful back then...at a time when GI Joe (another cartoon by Marvel for Hasbro) was all the rage on tv.
You should watch Transformers: The Movie (the cartoon movie from the 80s). It was incredibly violent but still is much better than the Michael Bay films which i think are terrible (all 3 of them)
The latest movie (Transformers; Dark of the Moon) stole part of its story from a Transformers (gen 1) cartoon episode where they teleported Cybertron to Earth....the problem is the cartoon had a good story to go with that episode, while the movie didnt. Why do people pretend to like transformers?Because they're very young, didn't grow up with Transformers and are only pretending to like them because of the movies.
I grew up with Transformers the original series and I liked them but I also grew up with Voltron, the Xmen, and the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. Why do people pretend to like transformers?
They probably feel like they have to like it since the movies are marketed as being what every guy should be into: cars and hot girls. Therefore, they feel like they should like transformers and convince themselves they must have liked it when they were young. Why do people pretend to like transformers?I know I never liked them. I saw "Transformers One" because I was bored one day and downloaded it off the net. I watched it while I played poker on line. One was enough. I have not bothered with any of the sequels.
