Do you have hopes that Transformers 3 will be any better than the previous two movies?

Hey guys,

I loved the old Transformers cartoons, but I hated the movies. I think Bay did a horrible job and focused too much on everything EXCEPT the robots themselves....

BUT, do you think that the third (and hopefully last) Tranformers movie that Bay is making has the slightest chance of being any better than the previous two? I don't really have my hopes up, but I'll be going to see it nonetheless since I love the franchise.

Thanks much in advance. :)Do you have hopes that Transformers 3 will be any better than the previous two movies?Sadly- no. It's a rare Series that ends better than it started. And as you pointed out, Transformers never really got very far off the Ground in the FIRST place- before it crashed with a Thud. So don't expect T 3 to be anything to call Home about... :(Do you have hopes that Transformers 3 will be any better than the previous two movies?
I never watched the cartoons and really like the movies. I really dont know what to think of the third one because as you said they dont focus on the robots, like in the second one have you noticed every time it showed Megan Fox she had to be in some sexy pose and such? (I Think she is a beautiful girl, however I didnt go to the movie theatre to see her, I came to see Transformers, hence the title of the movie.)Do you have hopes that Transformers 3 will be any better than the previous two movies?Part 1 was all about Shia Labuff

Part 2 was perfect... all about the robots and little about Shia

Part 3: Get rid of everyone non military and the Transformers

so we can have a true transformers movie.Do you have hopes that Transformers 3 will be any better than the previous two movies?
I don't think it's gonna be good. I don't really like the movies that much either.Do you have hopes that Transformers 3 will be any better than the previous two movies?nah i doubt itDo you have hopes that Transformers 3 will be any better than the previous two movies?
Good to see a fellow fan! While I would say keep your hopes down (since overhyping any movie, good or bad, will get you disappointed), there are many arguments for it to be better.

First of all, Michael Bay has already admitted certain mistakes with the second film, such as "dorky comedy" from the twins, and promises to rectify that. He also promises a darker, better story this time (although admittedly, he did say that for the second movie as well).

Secondly, the third movie also sports a better villain than the second one (I'm not spoiling it here but the link will tell you who it is), as they chose a well-loved character from the cartoons this time. One of the biggest failings of the second film, some opined, was that they chose an obscure villain, the Fallen, and didn't give him enough characterization.

Third, actor Shia LaBeouf found the second movie confusing and disappointing, but acknowledges that the crew was under pressure due to the writers' strike and promises a superior movie this time round. Regardless of your opinion of LaBeouf, I think it's at least encouraging when he says that he "... wasn鈥檛 happy with the second movie and unless the third one is better than both, then we failed."

Fourth, as stated above, the script for the second movie was hurt due to the writers' strike and the third movie will not face the same problem.

Fifth, this movie is the end of the story, so at least we (presumably) won't have many plot holes or hanging threads.

Finally, while this is just my opinion, I found that for certain trilogies, the third movie is sometimes better. The best example I can think of is George Lucas, who listened to complaints and as a result, Star Wars Episode III: Revenge of the Sith was definitely better than the previous two. Similarly, one can argue that Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade improved over The Temple of Doom and there are many other examples of superior third films in a trilogy. As such, perhaps there is hope for the third Transformers movie.

As I have said, although one shouldn't get overhyped for it, and while there are chances (and many arguments) for the movie to fail, there are also many reasons the movie might actually be a good watch. It probably won't be some Oscar-nominated film, but it might be a fun one. So let's be optimistic and hope for the best for Transformers 3. At any rate, if it disappoints, you'll still have the upcoming Transformers: Prime TV series to look forward to.
